Housekeeping star - we can definitely say that lemon is one of the best flavors and spices. Unfortunately, like most fruits, lemons spoil very quickly and last for two to four weeks. In this article, we discuss four ways to freeze lemons so that you can enjoy the taste and properties of lemons for a longer period of time. stay with us

Method 1: Steps to freeze a whole lemon

1. Place the whole lemon into a ziplock bag

Completely deflate the air inside the bag. Once you are sure there is no air in the plastic bag, close the zipper. Vacuuming the bag will keep the lemons fresh in the freezer and won't take up much space in your freezer.

2. Put the bag containing the lemons in the freezer

Depending on the temperature of your freezer, the lemon freezing process can take anywhere from a couple of hours to overnight. Use fresh lemons for your next week's use and freeze the rest before they go bad.

3. Put the lemon in cold water for 10 minutes to dissolve it

A whole, thawed lemon will likely be soft and you won't be able to cut it. This softness makes limes a suitable seasoning. In this case, you can also use lemon juice.

You can store lemons in the freezer for 3 to 4 months.

Second method: freeze lemon slices

1. Cut the lemon into small pieces

Slicing limes into small pieces before freezing preserves the lemon's freshness and can be used in things like cocktails and appetizers. You can also cut lemon slices into crescents.

2. Arrange the lemon slices on a mold and put them in the freezer

Make sure there is space between the lemon slices. Placing the lemon slices in the mold allows them to freeze separately. Keep the lemon slices in the freezer for 2-3 hours or until the lemon juice is completely frozen. When the lemon is hard and does not release juice when pressed, it means that the lemon has been completely frozen.

3. Transfer the lemon slices to a zip-lock plastic bag

After the lime is completely frozen, you can put it in a ziplock bag and then put it in the freezer. Whenever you need a lemon, you can take one of the lemon slices out of the bag and use it.

Method 3: Put lemon peel chips in the freezer

1. Grate the zest of the lemon.

Lemon peel chips contain natural oils. You can freeze them separately or zest the lemon after it has been frozen and freeze it.

2. Put the chip into a ziplock bag

Place the lemon slices into a ziplock bag. Use leftover lemons during the next week, or cut them up and freeze them.

3. Put the bag containing the chips into the freezer

Leave the skin slice in the freezer for a few hours or overnight until completely frozen. Whenever you like, you can take as much as you want and put the rest in the freezer.

Lemon peel also has unique properties that we have discussed in detail in the article on the benefits and properties of lemon peel.

Be warned that all of the mentioned methods must be done with precision to prevent limes from becoming bitter in the freezer.

Fourth method: freeze lemonade

1. Take the juice of a lemon

You can extract lemon juice using a manual juicer. If you don't have a juicer, you can take a quarter of a lemon and squeeze the juice with a fork. The goal is to crush the lemon and extract its juice.

2. Measure out a cup of lemon juice

Limiting the amount of lemon juice allows you to get more accurate measurements of your lemon usage. The seeds must be removed during the juice extraction process.

3. Pour the lemon juice into an ice cube tray

As you transfer the lemonade to the ice cube trays, make sure you know how many cubes a full glass is made of. This will enable you to get more accurate measurements when you have to use lemon juice in special recipes.

4. Put the ice cubes in the freezer to freeze them

Let them stay in the freezer until completely frozen. If you don't freeze fresh lemonade, it can go bad in two to four days. Storing lemonade in ice cubes will allow you to preserve the lemonade for a longer period of time. If you need your own ice trays, you can transfer the lemonade cubes to a ziplock bag after freezing.

Storing natural lemon juice at home and how to store lemon juice in the freezer is not a difficult task, but the relevant tips must be fully implemented.
